eBay Cassini Search Update Needs Good eBay Design

Tuesday, September 17th, 2013

Here as As Was we love the eBay Cassini search update. It rewards good data and most of all good eBay design.

So what has eBay’s Cassini update got to do with eBay design anyway?

Lots.

This update is all about relevance, trust, value & convenience. One of the crucial factors in this update is the ability to hold a buyers attention and close the deal. eBay are weighing up sellers and listings by comparing how many impressions they receive to how many sales they generate.

If your title and catalog/item specifics data is spot on they will find you.

Then comes the crucial bit. Your description layout, where your eBay design sits.

This part of the eBay experience can make or break a sale. If your buyer hits the back button as they can’t find what they need, that’s one more impression that out weighs a sale.

Our eBay designs are PROVEN to increase sales by increasing buyer conversions. We create that experience for your buyer to instill trust, show key information that may sway the buying decision, and have an overall pleasant experience while shopping.

A bad eBay design or description layout will soon start to affect your ranking in search. It is now more important that ever to get good advice and partner with an experienced eBay design company like As Was.

We shall be talking more about Cassini on our blog as there are important factors to consider around your entire eBay operation and not just design. We are a consulting company, we consider more than just your eBay template.

Boss Bearing, an eBay Motors seller that still loves us!

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

We love to hear from our clients old and new at As Was.

Boss bearing had their first encounter with As Was 2 years ago and kindly told us how happy they STILL are with our service. We give GREAT advice as our team is dedicated, on the pulse and most of all CARE about the clients that come to us. We want you to succeed in business, it is why we are here!

Terrific Marketing and Mentoring for all eBay Sellers!

Deb and her team at As Was were amazing! All of the advice she gave me along with all of her UX knowledge really gave us that nice bump in sales that we were looking for. It’s been over 2 years since our initial meeting and everything she forecasted has been dead-on. We used As Was for our eBay template and our website design. We continue to be very happy!

Tammy Slade

They came to As Was wanting a great eBay template with a mentoring aspect as well as the need for an online store.

They had key messages to convey to buyers about their free domestic shipping and great international rates, so these were given prominence within the design. We rewrote their policies and about us text as we do with all our template clients. They were glad to not have to worry about this.

The design needed to be gritty and edgy to appeal to their main customer base. The use of off road and landscape silhouette imagery spoke directly to their customers to give them a unique look and feel. The use of neon accents kept a youthful look.

This branding was then taken over to a Volusion store to expand their selling channels.

Want to grow your eBay business? A fellow eBay Motors seller? Let us know your needs and contact us.

Open Job: Account Manager

Monday, June 6th, 2011

Hi! We have an open job here at As Was, especially for our busy season (May through end of October). You’d be a 1099’ed consultant type working from home. We need you to have a good internet connection, reliable computer, and work space away from other humans and animals that might live with you. A door you can close is key. :) You also need to be able to manage your own time well. I hate micromanaging people, and people hate being micromanaged.

Our Account Manager takes approved template designs, slices the Photoshop file into HTML, CSS, and images, installs them into a variety of listing software choices, and also does our eBay Stores and About Me pages. This is all done by hand. If you slice with Pshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, or anything other than hand-coding, you don’t qualify for this job. Familiarity with eBay listing software helps, but we can train on that as many of them are darn easy and somewhat intuitive.

We can’t train for knowledge and familiarity with eBay. Please only apply if you are at least a part-time eBay seller. Considering the blog post that’s launching tomorrow, we do not hire people who don’t use eBay. Our clients expect us to know eBay really well, and it makes no sense to serve them up somebody who doesn’t!

You’ll interact with clients, so we only hire native English speakers who are friendly and customer-service oriented. You must be in North America or the UK.

We’re friendly and casual. We have a sense of humour. We love what we do. You should be part of our infectious good mood. :)

If you have any questions, or would like to throw your hat in the ring, please send an email to HR [at] aswas [dot] com. Thanks!
