Driver’s Licenses for the Non-Driver

Tuesday, 21 November 2006 at 5:00 am Pacific USA Time.

A few weeks ago, I went to concert that required ID to go in. I showed my drivers license. My friend who attended with me showed a Canadian citizenship card.

The guy at the door had never seen one. He wanted to see a passport. My friend wasn’t carrying it. The guy at the door wanted a driver’s license. We told him my friend never learned to drive, so he has no driver’s license.

The guy at the door replied, "Wouldn’t you have a driver’s license if you’re Canadian?"

Not if you don’t drive.

Well, we got in to see the concert, but I still couldn’t figure out the connection between Canadian and having a driver’s license.
